Inspecting Your New Home

Your search for a new home is finally coming to a close!  While you may have spent plenty of time exploring potential homes during your search, many areas of the home you have chosen might remain unseen.  It is likely that several systems throughout the home are hidden from view, or require careful review that cannot take place during a normal walk-through.  Enter Milestone Home Inspections with magnifying glass in hand.  We are prepared to give your new home a final check-up from the roof to the foundation.  In addition to highlighting defects in the home, we also aim to improve your understanding of your new home and the systems and components within.  The following is a home inspection checklist of the systems and components which are thoroughly evaluated and/or tested  during an inspection.

A thorough visual inspection is performed on the following systems and components.
  • Roofing, guttering, and other roof components.
  • Decks, balconies, and patios.
  • Garages and carports.
  • Electrical components and safety systems.
  • Basements, crawl spaces, and foundations (visible).
  • Plumbing components, and supply and drain functions.
  • Attics and systems within.
  • General interior spaces.
  • Kitchens and built in kitchen appliances.

You may request inspection of additional systems or components of your home prior to your inspection (additional fees may apply).  Please feel free to call us today to highlight any specific questions or concerns regarding your new home!

Note: All inspections are performed in accordance with the South Carolina Home Inspection Standards Of Practice.
